Our client delivers consulting services and software solutions to implement telecommunication<\/a>, fiber, and broadband internet networks for businesses, communities, and municipalities of any size. Their all-in-one software suite contains web and desktop tools for planning fiber-optic networks and managing fiber to the x (FTTX) projects. The client has completed successful network infrastructure projects across Germany, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

The client came with the challenge<\/h2>\n

The client had a solid vision for a software\u00a0suite\u00a0that would streamline\u00a0the\u00a0planning, design, and management of\u00a0FTTX projects.\u00a0The suite would also\u00a0eliminate\u00a0inefficient\u00a0paperwork\u00a0and\u00a0improve\u00a0our client\u2019s\u00a0network infrastructure\u00a0business\u00a0by\u00a0automating\u00a0and\u00a0optimizing\u00a0network projects, making them more\u00a0accurate\u00a0and cost-efficient.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Combining the knowledge and experience of their geodesists, network engineers, and entrepreneurs, the client started building their solution in-house. But they lacked expertise in .NET technologies and had little experience setting up large-scale software development life cycle processes. It became clear that they needed a professional provider of location based software solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Intellias\u00a0developed the solution for\u00a0network planning<\/h3>\n

Working closely with\u00a0our\u00a0client\u2019s team,\u00a0we\u00a0identified\u00a0primary\u00a0use cases and\u00a0decided on the core technology stack, architecture prototype\u00a0improvements, and major product functionality for optical network design and implementation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With that done, our foremost task was to establish a comprehensive development process for our distributed team involving Agile and XP practices. As a result, every process \u2013 from design and implementation to quality assurance and deployment \u2013 has a clear scope, flow, timeline, and ready-and-running toolset.<\/p>\n

What followed was an active development phase that focused on NetEnterprise \u2013 a desktop solution for delivering optimal FTTX designs at unmatched speed and scale. Our Intellias engineers developed a mathematical engine powered by a heuristic algorithm of big-size graphs clusterization and ArcGIS, Esri\u2019s advanced cloud-based mapping platform. This engine lies at the core of graphical network planning and our client\u2019s comprehensive analytical suite. These technologies allowed us to automatically create map-based network architectures, generate schematic presentations for existing plans, select optimal network hardware, and estimate project costs.<\/p>\n

Currently, we\u2019re\u00a0finalizing the new web portal\u00a0for\u00a0managing FTTX projects related to\u00a0network planning and design software<\/span>.\u00a0This\u00a0solution is\u00a0now\u00a0in the pre-release phase\u00a0and is\u00a0undergoing\u00a0heavy\u00a0internal user\u00a0testing.\u00a0Built on\u00a0Symfony\u00a0components,\u00a0the solution\u00a0uses\u00a0a\u00a0PostgreSQL database and JavaScript\u00a0components for\u00a0data\u00a0visualization and reporting.\u00a0The portal\u00a0lets users\u00a0create\u00a0template-based projects and monitor all aspects\u00a0of those projects\u00a0\u2013 from\u00a0costs\u00a0to work orders and timelines.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
